General Dynamics Land Systems demonstrates its MUTT UGV at AUSA 2014
At AUSA 2014 (Association of United States Army) Annual Meeting currently taking place in Washington D.C., General Dynamics Land Systems is conducting live demonstrations of its latest unmanned ground vehicle (UGV): The Multipurpose Unmanned Tactical Transport (or MUTT).

The MUTT was designed for forward-deployed, dismounted small units that can benefit from robotic transport of equipment and supplies in all types of terrain. One platform off-loads a fire team’s load; two per Squad. The MUTT simple, maintenance-free design minimizes logistics support. It is fitted with a long-duration, JP-8 compatible hybrid power plant. As shown live during AUSA, the MUTT has excellent mobility over steep slopes.

General Dynamics describes the MUTT as a robotic follower that lightens a soldier's load by decreasing the amount of equipment they need to carry when dismounted in the toughest of terrains. It uses advanced, proven commercial technology that has been adapted for the rigors of the battlefield. With ultra-quiet electric motors, the MUTT 2 also gives soldiers unmatched expeditionary power that includes hands-free, robotic platform operation.
