"UN peacekeepers have ordered a batch of BTR-80 armored personnel carriers," Suvorov said.
The spokesman did not specify the country that had ordered the armored personnel carriers and when they would be delivered to it. Suvorov did not say how many vehicles the UN peacekeeping forces would receive. In February, Russia handed over a batch of small arms and ammunition to Fijian peacekeepers, i.e. the infantry battalion based in the Golan Heights. The United Nations lacks a permanent international force. The troops making up its peacekeeping forces are voluntarily provided by UN member-states. |
