The fielding of the SPM-3 Medved special armored wheeled vehicle with the Russian Interior Ministry will begin next year, Sergei Suvorov, spokesman for Russian defense contractor Military Industrial Company, has told journalists.

"The vehicle entered service with the Russian Interior Ministry in February, and its fielding will commence in 2017," Suvorov said.
The SPM-3 Medved is designed as means of transport and operational vehicle and can mount various weapons and mission equipment. Its hull and armored-glass windows feature the Class 6A ballistic protection. The SPM-3 Medved, with the nickname “The Bear” is wheeled armoured vehicle of Russian category equivalent of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush protected vehicle) family vehicle |
