Russia to supply Belarus with three S-300PS air defense systems
Russia has supplied to Belarus three S-300PS (NATO reporting name: SA-10D Grumble) air defense systems batteries in accordance with previously signed agreement between the countries. In total, four S-300PS batteries are planned to be transferred to Belarus, according to the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense chief, Mayor General Oleg Dvigalev.
     
     
"We are accepting the third S-300 battery in Borisov," Dvigalev said. According to him, previously two S-300PS batteries had been transferred from Habarovsk. The units would take their duties in the 337th air defense regiment located outside Polotsk (Vitebsk Region).

Dvigalev pointed out, that Belaris would receive the fourth S-300PS battery in March 2016. He said, that air defense regiments located at Brest and Grodno Regions would get one battery each. The mayor general mentioned, that Russia supplied S-300PS air defense systems to Belarus free-of-charge after full repair and extension of the service life by 5 to 7 years.
