Almaz-Antey transferred 2nd regiment of S-400 air defence system.
Almaz-Antey Concern has transferred the second regiment set of the S-400 Triumf air defense missile system to the Russian Defense Ministry in 2017, the concern’s press service reported.
"The solemn delivery ceremony took place at the Kapustin Yar Test Range in the Astrakhan Region. The acceptance tests were successful," the concern said. By April 2017, according to open sources, 19 S-400 Triumf SAM regiments had been on combat alert in the Russian Armed Forces. They are located in Elektrostal, Dmitrov, Zvenigorod, Kurilovo (Moscow Region), Nakhodka (Primorye), Kaliningrad, Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Region), Polyarny (Murmansk Region.), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Kamchatka Territory), Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, the Crimea and etc.
The current State Armament Program provides for fielding of 56 S-400 Triumf battalions before 2020, which is sufficient to rearm 28 two-battalion air defense missile regiments. On November 25, 2015, a Triumf battalion was moved from the Moscow Region to Khmeimim Air Base in Syria, where the Russian air force group was stationed. Later, according to media reports, yet another battalion was deployed in Syria’s Hama province.
