Czech Republic to buy 20 Pandur II 8x8 Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles
The army of Czech Republic will buy 20 Pandur-II armoured vehicles from Tatra Defence Vehicle for 2.1 billion crowns ($82.77 million), the Czech Defence Ministry said on Monday, marking the second major deal for the defence company.
     
     
The order 8x8 wheeled vehicles will include six command and 14 communications vehicles planned to be delivered in 2019-2020.

The Pandur II is an 8x8 armoured personnel carrier vehicle developed by the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeuge, which is now a subdivision of General Dynamics European Land Systems.

In the Czech Army, the version of the Pandur is called Pandur II CZ M1. The infantry fighting vehicle variant is fitted with an unmanned turret armed a 30mm ATK Bushmaster Mk.44 cannon, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and two launcher Spike-LR multi-purpose missiles.

The Czech company Tatra, began the production of the Pandur II last May and the company signed its first deal to sell Pandur vehicles last year to the Indonesian army.
