A total of 36 Eagle V 4x4 armoured vehicles were odered with an expected delivery between in the period from the second quarter of 2018 april 2019.

The tender process was started in November 2015, and in February 2016, 5 candidates have been selected including General Dynamics Force Protection Europe with the OCELOT, General Dynamics European Land Systems MOWAG with the EAGLE 5, NEXTER Systems from France with the ARAVIS, OSHKOSH DEFENSE LLC with M-ATV and OTOKAR Otomotiv from Turkey with the COBRA & COBRA 2.

The Eagle V of General Dynamics European Land Systems was unveiled during Eurosatory, defense exhibition in June 2010. This next-generation EAGLE retains the key features of the existing in-service EAGLE that has made it the preferred light tactical vehicle of Europe’s most demanding customers. These features include low signature and mass, high reliability in all environments and outstanding off-road.

The EAGLE V has a length of 5.40 m, a height of 2.38 m, a width of 2.2 m, and it accommodates up to 5 persons. The EAGLE 5 sets a new survivability standard for the light tactical vehicle class and provides proven mine, improvised explosive device (IED) and ballistic protection previously only provided by vehicles up to twice its weight.

The survivability systems of the new EAGLE 5 are modular and completely integrated with the new high survivability cabin. These kits allow the tactical commander to adapt the vehicle to new threats in theatre, thus securing the utility of the EAGLE 5 across the complete spectrum of combat operation
