Kongsberg from Norway to deliver NASAMS missile to Lithuania.
The Norwegian Company KONGSBERG on Thursday, October 26, 2017, signed a contract worth €109 million with the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania to supply a NASAMS air defence missile system. The Lithuanian armed force expects to receive all the systems and training by 2021, according to the Lithuanian defense ministry.

Lithuania announced 21 October 2016 an agreement with the Norwegian Ministry of Defence on procurement of NASAMS components; today’s contract includes new additional equipment, training and integrated logistics support package, as well as refurbishment and integration of government supplied components for a complete NASAMS system.

The NASAMS (Norwegian Advanced Surface to Air Missile System) is a medium to long range air defence missile system designed and manufactured by the Norwegian Company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace teamed up with Raytheon for the missile.
Each NASAMS battery consists of 3 or 4 fire distribution centers, 3 or 4 AN/TPQ-36 surveillance, acquisition, and tracking radar systems, 9 truck-mounted missile launchers with 6 AMRAAM missiles each, and 3 or 4 truck-mounted MSP 500 electro-optical sensor for visual target identification and raid size assessment. The missile has a maximum range of 40 km and can reach an altitude of up to 14 km.
