The Turkish Company Otokar, a Koç Group company, is showcasing its own designed and manufactured, world renowned military vehicles and turret systems during IDEF 2017, International Defence Industry Exhibition. At the 4-day exhibition, organized under the aegis of the Turkish Presidency and hosted by the Turkish Ministry of Defence, Otokar is exhibiting 15 armoured vehicles and its own designed turret systems.

Combat and Security vehicles showcased by OTOKAR at IDEF 2017
Altay MBT The prototype of Turkey’s national main battle tank ALTAY, counting days to start serial production. Designed and developed to meet the demands and expectations of the Turkish Land Forces against present and future threats, ALTAY is the world’s most modern main battle tank with its specifications. With Otokar as prime contractor, the ALTAY project was launched in 2009, and the main battle tank, with increased survivability, mobility and firing power, has delivered superior performance in challenging tests conducted in all climatic and terrain conditions for the last two years. The “Qualification Tests” conducted by the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry, and Land Forces Command on ALTAY, which has achieved very high accuracy in firing tests carried out for diverse scenarios in all kinds of weather conditions and distances, were completed in February 2017. As the sole authorized company to receive the Call to Bid Document for ‘Serial Production’, also known as Phase II, for the main battle tank ALTAY to launch serial production, Otokar submitted its first bid on January 18, 2016, and its best and final offer (BAFO) on August 29, 2016. With all infrastructure requirements and line plans in place to launch production with the signing of the ALTAY serial production contract, Otokar also obtained the ‘Production Permit’ from the Ministry of Defence. In addition to the production of 250 ALTAY tanks required by the Land Forces Command over the course of five years, Otokar has also made annual capacity plans taking into consideration the export potential, minesweeping, rescue, engineering tank and other derivative and complementary vehicle needs. The Undersecretariat of Defense Industry’s evaluation process regarding the bid for the ‘Serial Production’ and ‘Integrated Logistic Support’ of 250 units of ALTAY is on-going. |

Altay Urban Operations Tank (Altay-AHT)
ALTAY Urban Operations Tank (ALTAY-AHT) was developed by Otokar on the ALTAY Main Battle Tank (ALTAY MBT) Hull and Turret platform. With asymmetric engagements that mostly transpire in residential areas increasing, Otokar has predicted that the modern armies’ need for suitably equipped battle tanks would also increase, and designed ALTAY-AHT Urban Operations Tank with a special team of 20 in as little as five months. With its unique survivability, mobility and fire power capabilities ALTAY-AHT, Urban Operations Tank is differentiated from ALTAY MBT with its armour system, mission equipment and a suspension with torsion bars. |

Arma 6x6 with Bozok 12.7mm turret
Another version of the Arma at IDEF 2017, is a 6x6 configuration chassis fitted with a one-man turret called Bozok armed with a 12.7mm machine gun. The ARMA 6x6 is available in various types of configurations such as Personnel Carrier, Infantry Fighting Carrier, Command Post, Ambulance, CBRN reconnaissance, Driver Training and Reconnaissance with optional amphibious capability. In APC configuration, the Arma 6x6 can carry a total of 10 military personnel including driver and commander. The Bozok 12.7 MKT one man manual closed turret is designed to operate with 12.7mm / 7.62mm machine gun or 40mm automatic grenade launcher. The turret has day and night (thermal&ccd) digital gunner sight system having a multi-function gunner display unit. Gun functions are controlled by a digital gun control unit. |

Arma 6x6 with Keskin dual weapon Remotely Controlled Weapon Station
A second version of the Arma 6x6 is showcased at IDEF 2017 fitted with the Keskin Dual RCWS (Remotely Controlled Weapon Station) armed with 7.62mm machine gun and one 40mm automatic grenade launcher. KESKIN RCWS is a combat proven, lightweight and modular weapon system designed and produced for tracked and wheeled vehicles. KESKIN RCWS is suitable for 7.62 mm GMPG, 12.7 mm HMG or 40 mm AGL and has an optical suite composed of thermal sight, day sight providing 360º situational awareness and laser range finder. |

Arma 8x8 with MIZRAK 30 turret
The Arma 8x8 is the big brother in the Arma family, an tactical armoured vehicle designed and developed by Otokar that was especially designed for the for the Turkish Armed Forces using the same components as the Arma 6x6. The ARMA 8x8 is designed using an armoured monocoque V-shaped steel hull, offering a low silhouette and large internal volume. At IDEF 2017, the Arma is fitted with the MIZRAK 30, an unmanned turret system which is designed for armored fighting vehicles. It is controlled by a gunner and a commander seated inside the vehicle under armor. The MIZRAK 30 is armed with a 30mm automatic cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun mounted to the right of the main armament. It has the latest generation digital fire control system architecture having dual-axes independently stabilized commander and gunner sights utilized with highest performance cooled thermal camera, ccd camera and laser range finder as the payload and target tracking function. |

The Arma 8x8 is also displayed with the MIZRAK S turret which is armed with a 30mm automatic cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. MIZRAK-S features the latest generation digital fire control system architecture, and independently stabilized gunner sight utilizing highest performance cooled thermal camera, CCD camera and laser range finder, offering optional independent commander sight system and hunter-sniper feature. MIZRAK-S, which can be integrated to the existing command control systems, provides target tracking function to the gunner. |

Rabdan 8x8 IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle)
A scale model of RABDAN 8x8, the armoured vehicle developed for the requirements of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, is displayed at the booth of Al Jasoor, the joint venture company of Otokar Land Systems with Tawazun’s Heavy Vehicles Industry. The Rabdan is the next generation of 8x8 armoured that will enter in service with the UAE armed forces. The vehicle is based on the ARMA 8x8 featuring some specific components to be used on hot weather conditions. The Rabdan 8x8 will be fitted with a Russian-made turret of BMP-3 tracked armoured infantry fighting vehicle. |

URAL light tactical armoured vehicle single cabin
URAL, designed in particular to meet the present needs and future expectations of the internal security forces, has been successfully serving in the Turkish inventory, and now the Armoured Single Cabin Pickup is exhibited at IDEF. The vehicle has an armoured cabin, engine compartment, and a 1+1 seating capacity. The vehicle is also fitted with a 360-degree revolving gun-ring. The compartments in the rear are designed so that they can be easily and quickly change by the personnel using a special fixing mechanism, ensuring fast configuration for different missions. The URAL Single Cabin Pickup displayed at IDEF 2017 features a “pillow tank” and supply compartments to carry water or fuel to operation sites. |

Cobra 4x4 APC with Keskin turret (Armoured Personnel Carrier)
The Cobra is the first generation of 4x4 APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) designed and developed by the Turkish Company Otokar. Cobra has one piece all-welded steel hull with automotive components and suspension units coming from US origin AM General HMMWV® Expanded Capacity variant (ECV). At IDEF 2017, the Cobra was fitted with a KESKIN RCWS (Remotely Controlled Weapon Station) armed with one 12.7mm machine gun. KESKIN RCWS is a combat proven, lightweight and modular weapon system designed and produced for tracked and wheeled vehicles. KESKIN RCWS is suitable for 7.62 mm GMPG, 12.7 mm HMG or 40 mm AGL and has an optical suite composed of thermal sight, day sight providing 360º situational awareness and laser range finder. |

Cobra II which is developed over existing Cobra Vehicle is a modular platform with superior technical and tactical characteristics. Besides outstanding mobility capability and 9 crew carrying capacity, the vehicle provides protection, firepower and mission equipment for users at different types of missions. The vehicle provides an outmatched performance in a wide range of challenging terrains and climatic conditions. The Cobra was fitted with the Basok RCWS (Remotely Controlled Weapon Station) armed with one 7.62mm machine gun. It is a stabilized weapon station designed to be easily mounted on all armoured combat vehicles. The turert is equipped with ccd day camera and optional thermal camera. |

Cobra II with SARP turret
Another version of the Cobra II armoured vehicle was displayed at IDEF 2017 with one Aselsan SARP turret which is a stabilized advanced remote weapon platform. ASELSAN SARP provides a perfect match for integration onto tactical vehicles, fixed surveillance posts, towers and critical infrastructures. Depending on the operational requirements, SARP can be equipped with 12.7mm machine gun, 40mm automatic grenade launcher or 7.62mm machine gun. Through its extensive surveillance and remote control capabilities, SARP enhances situational awareness of the gunner in his proximity while the vulnerability to attacks is decreased drastically. |

The Cobra Scout is a Reconnaissance and surveillance vehicle which is now in service with the Turkish armed forces. The roof of the vehicle is equipped with telescopic mast fitted with cameras and optics to perform surveillance missions on the battlefield. |
