Rheinmetall Canada offers a family of fully digital and stabilized remotely controlled weapon stations that can be integrated on various armoured vehicle platforms and used for different mission profiles. The family comprises the Qimek single weapon station, the Nanuk dual weapon station, and the lightweight Amarok weapon station.
Rheinmetall Canada's weapon station family is designed with a high level of commonality and modularity, and is fully compliant with military standards for human factors engineering.
The Qimek weapon station features full stabilization, super elevation, long range day/night all-weather sights, and the capability to integrate NATO and non-NATO weapons. These technical attributes bring the protection of armoured vehicles to a new level.
The Qimek is equipped with optoelectronic sensor systems to guarantee optimized field surveillance, target acquisition and combat by day, night or under poor visibility. The system comprises an LCD high-resolution touch screen monitor, target tracker, two-handed controller, second controller, smoke protection system and side ballistic protection.
The Qimek can be armed with different type of weapons including machine gun up to 12.7mm caliber and automatic grenade launcher of 30 or 40mm caliber. The high elevation aiming angle from -20° to +60° offers distinct advantages, also in urban mission scenarios.
