DSEI 2023: New Consortium Team Agilis optimizes support for British Army's vehicle fleet.
A new consortium led by Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is poised to provide comprehensive support to the British Army's diverse vehicle fleet, including Pinzgauers, Land Rover Wolf, RWMIK, Snatch 2B, and Lightweight Trailers. Known as Team Agilis, the partnership also features TVS Supply Chain Solutions, Ricardo, and Martin Williams (Hull). Together, they aim to secure and execute the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) Conventional Vehicle Systems Spares and Post Design Services (CVSSP) contract. Valued at an estimated £71 million, the contract is seen as a pioneering model for future agreements that will include both Post Design Services and spares for various land platforms.

Each member of Team Agilis brings a unique set of skills and responsibilities to the table. For instance, RBSL serves as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the Pinzgauer platform, while Martin Williams (Hull) holds a similar role for the Lightweight Trailer. Ricardo specializes in the RWMIK and Snatch 2B platforms, and TVS Supply Chain Solutions contributes its expertise in inventory management and procurement.
The CVSSP contract offers the MoD an opportunity to streamline the process of acquiring Post Design Services and spares, making it more efficient. TVS, already holding the Land Rover Spares contract, adds another layer of supply chain expertise to Team Agilis. This is particularly important as one of the most pressing challenges in maintaining the British Army's vehicle fleet is the issue of obsolescence. Team Agilis aims to address this by pooling the collective design knowledge and expertise of the OEMs, in collaboration with supply chain specialists. The ultimate goal is to ensure ongoing technical support and a steady supply of spares until the assets reach the end of their service life.
Colin McClean, Managing Director at RBSL, emphasized that the company is ideally positioned to lead Team Agilis, given its role as the British Army's Land Champion. Paul Tarry, Head of Special Vehicle Operations at Ricardo, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration and cited Ricardo's extensive experience with special adaptations of the Land Rover Defender. Mark Williams, Technical Director at Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd, and Rebecca Ryan, TVS Procurement Director, also voiced their eagerness to contribute their expertise to the program.
The formation of Team Agilis represents a significant advancement in optimizing support for the British Army's vehicle fleet. By combining the strengths of multiple organizations, the consortium aims to address both current and future challenges effectively.
