The main target of iMUGS, one of the first defence development projects funded by the European Commission through the EDIDP (European Defence Industrial Development Programme), is to integrate robotic systems with existing manned technology in the European defence forces, adding new capacity, which will result in the standardisation of a European ecosystem of airborne and ground platforms, command, control and communication equipment, sensors, payloads and algorithms.

During the event, a dynamic demonstration was carried out using two THeMIS unmanned vehicles from Milrem Robotics. Escribano M&E had already participated in the demonstration held in Paris, integrating its OTEOS electro-optical system on the UGV. On this occasion, Escribano M&E presented the results of the Spanish project, promoted by the Ministry of Defence, where the company integrates its OTEOS platform and a captive drone on the THeMIS..

This event is the first of its kind to take place on Spanish soil, which represents a step forward in the consolidation of the Spanish defence industry on the European scene.

El Viso, a showcase for national technology

The event was held at Escribano M&E's facilities, under a concession from the Spanish Ministry of Defence, in the former El Viso military arsenal, an area of more than 750,000m² that the company has transformed into a technological centre for experimentation and testing, a showcase for national defence innovation and technology.
