ALANO is a pioneering Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), the result of a partnership between Einsa, Sener Aeroespacial, and INTA. Fitted with a 6x6 independent electric traction and powered by Ion-Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, ALANO boasts up to 10 hours of battery life, along with a maximum power output of 84 kW. The UGV's diesel generator range extender provides optimal energy control.
ALANO is designed to operate in a broad range of temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. The vehicle's dimensions stand at 3m in length, 1.6m in width, and 1.2m in height, and it weighs approximately 1,500 kg.
With a payload capacity of 650 kg, ALANO has the ability to navigate through demanding terrains, overcoming slopes up to 70%, lateral inclinations up to 40%, vertical obstacles of 30 cm, and ditches of 60 cm. It can achieve a top speed of 20 km/h.
The UGV embodies a standardized, modular, and open architecture, paving the way for potential future upgrades. It offers dual-mode operation - remote and autonomous - with a "follow me" feature for autonomous navigation.
In this collaborative project, Einsa manages the design and manufacturing of the platform, Sener Aeroespacial takes care of the development of the navigation system, and INTA outlines the user requirements and operational concept.
Originally conceived to meet the logistical support needs of a platoon or medical evacuation operations (MEDEVAC), ALANO was unveiled to Spanish Defense Ministry officials on October 10, at the Alijares Proving Ground (Toledo) during the 2E+I Forum.
