Russia's unlawful seizure of Crimea in 2014 marked the beginning of its aggressive stance against Ukraine. This was followed by further aggression in eastern Ukraine. The world has not forgotten these actions, and the United States, along with its allies and partners, stands firmly with Ukraine, reaffirming its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ukraine is not just a nation under threat; it is a key regional strategic partner. The country has been proactive in modernizing its military and enhancing its interoperability with NATO. The goal is clear: to equip Ukraine with the necessary tools to defend itself against Russia's ongoing war.

Since January 2021, the United States has invested over $44.5 billion in security assistance for Ukraine. This includes a staggering $43.9 billion since the onset of Russia’s war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022. If we look back further, since 2014, the total US security assistance, including training and equipment, amounts to more than $46.7 billion. This financial commitment underscores the US's enduring and steadfast commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The detailed list of military equipment and combat vehicles delivered by the U.S. to Ukraine as of September 21, 2023, is as follows:

- One Patriot air defense battery and munitions;
- 12 National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) and munitions;
- HAWK air defense systems and munitions;
- AIM-7, RIM-7, and AIM-9M missiles for air defense;
- More than 2,000 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles;
- Avenger air defense systems;
- VAMPIRE counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS) and munitions;

- Two Harpoon coastal defense systems and anti-ship missiles;

- M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel munitions configured to be compliant with the Ottawa Convention;
- C-4 explosives, demolition munitions, and demolition equipment for obstacle clearing;
- Obstacle emplacement equipment;
- Counter air defense capability;
- More than 100,000 sets of body armor and helmets;
- Tactical secure communications systems and support equipment;
- Four satellite communications (SATCOM) antennas;
