Iran unveils Fattah-2 hypersonic cruise missile.

Held at the Ashura Aerospace University of Science and Technology in Tehran, the exhibition highlighted the latest advancements of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force. These advancements included the "Fattah-2" missile, the "Mehran" mobile defense system, an enhanced "9th of Dey" system, and the "Shahed-147" drone.

The event showcased various sectors, including missiles, drones, defense, and space, demonstrating the progress made by Iranian scientists and IRGC Aerospace specialists. Earlier in June, the IRGC revealed the "Fattah" hypersonic ballistic missile. This missile, with a range of 1,400 kilometers and capable of speeds of Mach 13-15, is designed to evade and destroy all anti-missile defenses, according to its manufacturer.

IRGC Aerospace Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh emphasized Iran's entry into an exclusive group of countries with hypersonic missile technology. He highlighted the unique ability of the "Fattah" missile to avoid interception, stating that it can't be countered by existing defense systems due to its maneuverability in various directions and altitudes.

Hajizadeh stressed the ongoing nature of Iran's missile development program, aiming to deter potential adversaries from considering an attack on Iran. He also mentioned potential plans to extend the range of Iran's hypersonic missiles to 2,000 kilometers.

While the exact capabilities of the "Fattah-2" are not yet fully known, it is clear that they will surpass those of its predecessor, the "Fattah," as previously reported on Army recognition on June 6, 2023. It remains to be seen how this new hypersonic missile will be used and what its true capabilities are.
