Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, stated that this partnership aligns with the company's objective to diversify its manufacturing capabilities. He mentioned that the alliance signifies their commitment to the local industry and expanding their presence in regional and international markets.

The Armored Group (TAG), established in 1992, is known as a major supplier of commercial armored trucks worldwide, with manufacturing facilities in various countries. The company specializes in producing bullet-resistant vehicles, such as the Terrier LT-79, for various sectors, including military units, law enforcement agencies, personal protection, and cash-in-transit operations.

Tariq al Hamidani, CEO of TAG Duqm, expressed that Karwa Motors' recent performance prompted the collaboration. He expects the partnership to enhance the operational capabilities of both companies and support their goal of promoting investments in Duqm's economic zone.

Balushi acknowledged the efforts of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in attracting investments and ensuring the sustainability of such ventures. He also recognized the support of the Oman Investment Authority and Mowasalat Qatar, the state-owned transport company of Qatar, in advancing Karwa's strategy to strengthen its presence in the automotive sector, both locally and internationally.

Karwa Motors, initially a joint venture between Mowasalat Qatar and the Oman Investment Authority, has primarily focused on bus manufacturing. The company's facility in SEZAD, covering 600,000 square meters, has an annual production capacity of 600 buses. Since its inception in 2021, the factory has primarily been dedicated to manufacturing buses for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Equipped with advanced technology, the facility includes various workshops covering the entire spectrum of vehicle production, from initial cutting and welding processes to the final assembly stage. Under the new agreement, Karwa Motors is preparing to establish a dedicated production line for armored vehicles, utilizing its existing infrastructure and capabilities. This marks a significant development in the evolution of Karwa Motors and the growth of the automotive industry in Sezad.
