The Piap Hunter UGV has a weight of over four tons and a length of close to five meters. It is designed for use in challenging terrains and is equipped with a hybrid engine that includes an electric generator and traction electric motors. This allows for extended operational periods and the option for movement using only electric power. The vehicle has a top speed of over 50 km/h and is equipped with six high-resolution cameras, day and thermal imaging systems, and a radio communication system.
In field tests, the Piap Hunter was used alongside infantry units in difficult, sandy areas. When equipped with the Arex ZMU-03 remote weapon module, the UGV was utilized for threat detection, fire support, and the deployment of smoke screens.
The Arex ZMU-03 unmanned turret can be mounted on a Piap Hunter UGV. It is armed with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun and smoke grenade launchers. An optional feature allows the turret to be equipped with a small drone.
The turret is developed by Arex, a subsidiary of the WB Group, and features a stabilization system for both the weapon and its observational head. It is fitted with day and thermal cameras and a laser rangefinder. The turret can be controlled from an onboard operator station or remotely via a portable console.
