Germany continues to support Ukraine against Russian aggression, and although this aid might be less prominent than some previous deliveries, it still represents a significant lot of drones. Indeed, Germany has donated over 150 drones to the Ukrainian armed forces.
At the heart of this aid package is a drone reconnaissance system, including the LUNA NG system and 152 VECTOR reconnaissance drones. This essential equipment for surveillance and reconnaissance operations provides the Ukrainian forces with enhanced capabilities to monitor enemy movements and plan strategic responses.
In addition to surveillance equipment, Germany has increased its supply of border protection vehicles, bringing the total to 241. These vehicles are vital for patrolling and securing Ukraine's borders, although the exact type of vehicle has not been specified.
Another critical aspect of the German aid is humanitarian support, demonstrated by the provision of 500,000 first aid kits, a significant increase from the previous 400,000. This aid is supplemented with essential medical materials, underscoring the importance of addressing the medical needs of those affected by the conflict.
Germany has also donated 8 more Zetros trucks, bringing the total to 232, up from the previous 224. The Zetros is a military utility truck designed and manufactured by Mercedes-Benz.
What sets the Zetros apart from other military trucks is its unique combination of all-terrain mobility, high load capacity, and crew comfort. It can be configured as a troop carrier, tanker truck, communication vehicle, or even adapted for medical roles, such as field ambulances. This flexibility makes it ideal for a multitude of roles within the armed forces.
Finally, the package also includes a significant amount of ammunition, with over 26,000 rounds of 155mm artillery shells from Bundeswehr and industry stocks, as well as 30 GMG grenade launchers.
