The OPTIO-X20 from Nexter derives its name from its core attributes: OPTIO signifies adaptability and versatility, while X20 highlights its potent armament. At the heart of this robot is the Arx20 turret, an innovation that bestows extended capabilities upon this drone. Tailored for a range of operational tasks, the OPTIO-X20 excels as a sentinel for perimeter security, a protector for combat groups, a precise target acquisition unit, and a versatile combatant.

Measuring 240 cm in length, 215 cm in width, and 111 cm in height, the OPTIO-X20 boasts a sturdy yet agile profile. Weighing 1700 kg in combat configuration, it can carry a maximum load of 750 kg, excluding the turret. This load-carrying capacity is complemented by the primary armament of the Arx20, the 20mm Mit. 20M621 cannon, an automatic cannon compliant with NATO standards. Additionally, the turret is equipped with a gyrostabilized 7.62mm MAG 58 machine gun, providing versatility and precision for target engagement.

The Arx20 turret is an innovation, with a firing rate of 750 rounds per minute for the 20mm cannon and 800 rounds per minute for the MAG 58 machine gun. Its effective range is equally significant, with the 20mm cannon capable of engaging targets up to 1600 meters away and the machine gun effective up to 800 meters. Ammunition stocks are also substantial, accommodating 100 rounds for the 20mm cannon and 300 rounds for the machine gun. Nexter also commits to advanced technology in the optronic systems of the OPTIO-X20. Equipped with a daytime color camera and an infrared night camera, this tactical robot can operate in varying lighting conditions. A laser rangefinder enhances accuracy for precise target acquisition and engagement.

In terms of mobility, the OPTIO-X20 excels on diverse terrains. It reaches a maximum speed of 22.5 km/h and can conquer slopes of up to 60%. Its lateral stability, with a maximum tilt capacity of 30%, ensures consistent performance on demanding landscapes. With a ground clearance of 40 to 60 cm and a traction force of 1100 kg, the OPTIO-X20 offers superior maneuverability.

Endurance is the hallmark of the OPTIO-X20's design. In its hybrid configuration, it can operate autonomously for 8 to 10 hours, and its electric mode provides an autonomy of 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The availability of optional batteries further enhances its operational flexibility.

The powertrain of the OPTIO-X20 reflects a commitment to innovation. It features a combination of a diesel engine and an electric generator, ensuring optimal performance while minimizing environmental impact.
