Originating from a South African design, the Mamba Mk 7 has been exclusively manufactured in the United States by Osprea Logistics since 2016. The Mk 7 version boasts several advancements over its predecessors, enhancing its capabilities in challenging environments. According to the company, hundreds of Mamba vehicles have been supplied worldwide, demonstrating impressive resilience in hazardous situations. These vehicles have notably withstood multiple improvised explosive device (IED) strikes, ranging from 50 kg to over 80 kg, without any recorded fatalities. This remarkable record includes multiple IED hits in regions like Somalia, Mali, and Niger.

The Mamba has established itself as a preferred vehicle for various critical operations, including peacekeeping, counter-terrorism, and counter-insurgency. The U.S. Government, among other international organizations and governments, favors the Mamba for its combination of simplicity, functionality, and cost-effectiveness. Osprea Logistics highlights that the Mamba offers NATO-level armored personnel carrier features at a fraction of the usual cost.

The vehicle's deployment in peacekeeping missions is noteworthy, particularly in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). Both Kenya and Uganda, participating countries in AMISOM, have incorporated Mambas into their fleets. In 2020, Kenya received 22 Mk 7s, while Uganda acquired 23, as reported by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

This recent delivery by Osprea Logistics reinforces the company's position as a key player in the global defense vehicle market, contributing significantly to the safety and efficiency of military and peacekeeping operations across Africa and beyond.
