On August 28, 2023, SmartShooter, a company specializing in fire control systems, announced the launch of its new Australian branch, SMASH Australia Pty Ltd. This expansion is part of the company's ongoing global growth strategy, which already includes operations in Europe, the United States, and a headquarters in Israel. The Australian subsidiary will focus on contributing to the local industry and enhancing Australia's sovereign capabilities.

Michal Mor, the CEO of SmartShooter, stated, "By setting up a subsidiary in Australia, we can more effectively meet the requirements of our local clientele and explore new partnerships in the region."

SmartShooter's flagship technology, Smash, is designed for engaging ground, aerial, and maritime targets under various conditions. Utilizing machine learning, computer vision, and advanced algorithms, the Smash range of fire control systems offers handheld, remote-controlled, and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) mounted options. These systems aim to improve accuracy, increase situational awareness, and potentially lower operational expenses.

The Smash technology is already in use by several global military forces, including the Israeli Defense Forces, the U.S. special forces, the British Army, the Indian Navy, and other forces in East Asia.

As previously reported by Army Recognition on February 16, 2022 and on June 28, 2023, the British and Dutch armies also adopted SmartShooter's Smash AD system. This system is specifically engineered to counter unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and has been integrated into their operations following successful tests. The Smash AD system enhances standard assault rifles with advanced targeting algorithms and electro-optical processing, allowing for precise and effective neutralization of targets. The system maintains human control throughout its operation and can be easily integrated with various assault rifle models and other counter-UAS systems.

The Smash AD system is equipped with a laser rangefinder and offers precise targeting capabilities both day and night. It can also interface with external sensors or detection systems, enabling operators to quickly and safely eliminate drones from a distance of up to 250 meters during daylight hours.
