Swedish Army receives first batch of new Patria 6x6 armored vehicles.

The Swedish Army has officially taken delivery of its initial shipment of new Patria 6x6 armored vehicles, produced in Finland but known as Pansarterrängbil 300 in Sweden.

These Patria 6x6 armored vehicles will be stationed at the Livgardet regiment in Kungsängen, near Stockholm, as well as in other locations further south in Sweden. The official handover ceremony commemorating the delivery occurred at the Ground Combat School in Kvarn on October 26, 2023.

In addition to Sweden, Patria's 6x6 vehicles are already in active service in Finland and Latvia. Furthermore, Germany has become part of the Patria 6x6-based Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program. These 6x6 deliveries underscore Sweden's significant role as one of Patria's key export markets.

"We are pleased to witness these vehicles operating on Swedish territory. Patria was able to fulfill the order swiftly, demonstrating the advantages of cross-border collaboration, which lies at the core of the joint CAVS program. The Pansarterrängbil 300, manufactured in Finland with substantial contributions from the Swedish industry, serves as a prime example of the benefits of technical cooperation between nations," stated Mats Warstedt, Senior Vice President of Market Area Nordics at Patria.

The Patria 6x6 (Patria XA-300) is primarily designed for troop transport but can be adapted for various other roles. The fundamental platform can be customized to meet a range of user requirements, incorporating optional features such as a swimming system, winch, enhanced armor protection, and a variety of weapon systems. Available weaponry ranges from machine guns to 25/30 mm medium-caliber direct-fire weapon systems and the Patria Nemo 120 mm turreted mortar system. The Patria 6x6 chassis is based on the Patria AMVXP structure and components, with an expected service life of over 30 years.
