The inaugural edition of the World Defense Show in 2022 was notable for its success despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event attracted 65,000 visitors from around the world and facilitated deals worth more than SAR 29.6 billion (US$7.89 billion) over a span of just four days. With the event extended to run for five days and increasing international interest in the Saudi defense market, expectations are for a significant increase in both attendance and the value of deals announced in 2024.
The World Defense Show serves as a platform for industry-wide networking, fostering relationships and partnerships across the defense and security supply chain. The event will reintroduce the Delegations Program, connecting high-ranking international government representatives with exhibitors looking to expand into specific country markets. Additionally, the Meet the KSA Government program will offer insights into the Kingdom's business guidelines, investment requirements, and partnership processes aligned with national defense industry objectives.
Another addition to the World Defense Show in 2024 is the Space Arena, a dedicated section showcasing the latest space capabilities and technologies. The Space Arena aims to highlight Saudi Arabia's strategic ambitions in space and identify future space opportunities for both the Kingdom and its international partners.
