Arquus Displays Fortress Mk2 at Eurosatory 2024 Dynamic Demonstration.

At Eurosatory 2024, the defense manufacturer Arquus introduced its latest advancement, the Fortress Mk2 armored vehicle. Initially designed to address the escalating threats on modern battlefields, the Fortress Mk2 features highly advanced levels of protection, effectively guarding against ballistic threats, mines, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This robust protection is enhanced by an innovative underbody architecture, making the Fortress Mk2 one of the most protected 4x4 Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) available.

The enhancement in protection has been achieved without any increase in mass, through the use of the latest Arquus technologies in armor and chassis design. This significant development ensures that the Fortress retains its exceptional mobility, a feature that has made the vehicle highly sought after since its first introduction in 2014 and quickly adopted by a European Special Forces unit.

The Fortress Mk2 can transport a combat group of 11 soldiers across all terrains. It retains the 340-horsepower, 6-cylinder engine from its predecessor, the Mk 1, which provides it with a power-to-weight ratio of 23 horsepower per ton, a maximum speed of 120 km/h, and a range of 1,200 kilometers. Its exceptional mobility and internal configuration ensure the safe transport of a full group and their equipment with a high level of comfort.

In addition to the Hornet Remote-Controlled Weapons Station (RCWS), the Fortress Mk2 can be equipped with a wide variety of weapons and systems, supporting infantry on the battlefield while providing operational fire support. Arquus has also integrated its Battlenet vetronics suite into the Fortress Mk2, designed to work with the Hornet turrets and including Blue Force Tracking (BFT).

True to the tradition of ACMAT vehicles, the Fortress Mk2 is rugged, durable, reliable, and modular, which simplifies maintenance needs and reduces costs. Customizable, it can be configured for either right-hand or left-hand drive.

Arquus, known for its comprehensive and innovative approach to after-sales service, ensures optimal vehicle uptime in all operational theaters. With its logistics platform in Garchizy and an international network, Arquus guarantees the availability of spare parts worldwide on very short notice. The Fortress Mk2 exemplifies Arquus's commitment to innovation and its ability to meet the complex requirements of contemporary military operations, thus bolstering its proliferation in the international market.
