EOS Defence presents anti-UAV technology to US and Saudi officials.

Electro Optic Systems (EOS Defence) showcased its advanced anti-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology during the Red Sands 23.2 Live Fire Exercise in the United States, in the presence of US and Saudi officials.

The exercise aimed to strengthen military cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia and to develop effective strategies against UAS threats. EOS Defence Systems USA collaborated with MARSS, a developer of battle management systems, in a Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (CUAV) Hard Kill Challenge. This collaboration highlighted state-of-the-art anti-UAS tactics, as reported by the involved companies.

Phil Coker, CEO of EOS, commented on the successful integration of advanced battle management systems with precise kinetic neutralization capabilities. The exercise was described as complex, incorporating various anti-drone technologies, drone targets, and scenarios mimicking sophisticated enemy tactics.

A highlight was MARSS's NiDAR system, notable for its innovative approach to UAV defense. NiDAR CUAS is an intelligent air defense system providing a comprehensive multi-layered protective shield. It includes long-range UAV detection, threat classification, and tracking.

Jeff Tipton, Director of Business Development in Defence at MARSS, commented on the opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of the NiDAR Command and Control Centre to leading military figures, including the commander of US CENTCOM and the Chief of General Staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces.

NiDAR's presentation focused on its user-friendly interface and its ability to merge data from various sensors into a single tactical overview. Tipton highlighted the system's AI technology that autonomously identifies, categorizes, and tracks threats, thereby reducing the workload of operators and improving decision-making and response times.

The demonstration also included the integration of the NiDAR system with an EOS remote weapon system (RWS) and cannon, effectively engaging UAV threats.

Following the success of Red Sands 23.1 in March 2023, MARSS and EOS had been invited to participate in Red Sands 2024. They had planned to present their fully networked, comprehensive CUAV solutions at this event, which has now been accomplished.
