The TRIDON Mk2 is equipped with the Bofors 40 Mk4 gun and is designed for rapid deployment. It can engage drones, cruise missiles, aircraft, and armored vehicles thanks to its modular design which facilitates easy integration of new technologies.

This system utilizes an optronic fire control unit and Bofors 3P programmable ammunition, capable of reaching targets up to 12,500 meters with a maximum elevation of 80° and a firing rate of 300 rounds per minute.

Stefan Röstlund, TRIDON Mk2 Program Manager at BAE Systems Bofors, reported that initial tests were conducted using a commercial truck. Subsequent tests confirmed that the system can operate on a 6x6 military truck platform without the need for external stabilizers. These tests were carried out at the Bofors Test Centre in Karlskoga and included engagements against UAVs of various sizes.

The TRIDON Mk2 has been designed to be compatible with various types of vehicle platforms, allowing flexibility in deployment options. Additional tests are planned to confirm compatibility with other platforms and to ensure the system's performance under different conditions.

BAE Systems is currently in discussions with several potential international clients and anticipates a production lead time of 15 months from contract signing. The TRIDON Mk2 aims to meet current and future air defense needs.
