DSEI 2025: Discover Meteksan's wide range of high technology solutions from radar to simulation.

Meteksan Defence is a major player in defence electronics, specializing in high-technology solutions for armed forces, border and infrastructure protection, as well as jamming systems for electronic warfare. In an interview with Army Recognition at DSEI 2025, Levent Budunoğlu, Sales Manager, and Emrah Batuman, Director, outlined the range of products developed by the Turkish company, including the KAPAN systems, the AGNOSIS anti-jamming GNSS family, and the MERT solutions for electronic attack.

At the center of this portfolio is the KAPAN system, designed to counter the growing threat of mini and micro UAVs, increasingly used in asymmetric contexts. Combining radar, electro-optical sensors, and jammers, KAPAN provides an integrated response against small aerial threats that are difficult to neutralize. The Retinar FAR-AD radar, the result of extensive development and operational testing, enables long-range detection and accurate classification, enhanced by artificial intelligence algorithms. The system is managed by command-and-control software that centralizes sensor data and provides operators with a complete and usable aerial picture in real time. In an environment where drone threats evolve rapidly, KAPAN demonstrates Meteksan’s ability to integrate advanced technologies into operational systems.

The resilience of navigation and positioning systems is also central to the company’s approach. With AGNOSIS, Meteksan has developed a solution to protect GNSS signals against jamming and spoofing. Using a CRPA antenna and an embedded processing module, the system filters out interference and restores a stable and usable signal, ensuring operational continuity for air, naval, or land platforms. This capability reflects a broader trend where satellite navigation, now a cornerstone of military operations, is increasingly targeted by hostile actions. Ensuring reliability in this domain is essential for maintaining operational freedom in contested electromagnetic environments.

Alongside these defensive systems, Meteksan is also investing in electronic attack with the MERT system and its portable variant MERTER. These systems are designed to jam a wide frequency range, from military V/UHF communications to drone control links and mobile networks. Their reactive architecture, combined with automatic and hybrid operating modes, makes them adaptable for the protection of mobile units, convoys, or fixed sites. Configurations exist in portable versions carried by a single operator or integrated into vehicles. Their adoption by the Turkish Armed Forces indicates that the program has progressed beyond the prototype stage into an operationally deployed capability.

Meteksan’s activities are not limited to the electromagnetic spectrum. Recognizing the growing importance of training and personnel preparation, the company has launched SIMETRAN, a unified brand bringing together its most advanced simulators. These include the Damage Control Simulator for managing onboard flooding and structural damage, the Fire Fighting Training Simulator for realistic fire-response scenarios, and the Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer for survival after emergency landings at sea. SIMETRAN offers realistic and safe training solutions already in use by several international navies, providing flexible and immersive training environments tailored to the needs of armed forces and emergency response teams.

Meteksan’s presence at DSEI 2025 illustrates an industrial strategy based on complementary systems. From drone detection and neutralization to GNSS signal protection, electronic attack, and simulation-based training, the company has built a coherent portfolio aligned with current operational requirements. In a context marked by the expansion of hybrid threats, such integration is presented as a significant operational advantage.

By bringing together systems such as KAPAN, AGNOSIS, MERT, and SIMETRAN under a single framework, Meteksan Defence positions itself as a reference actor in military electronics and operational training. Its focus on developing technologies into deployable solutions demonstrates an intention to expand its role both in Türkiye and internationally.
