IndoDefence 2025: Live Demonstration Focus on Indonesian Electric Solutions for Tactical Silence.
On the third day of Indo Defence 2025, the Indonesian armed forces shifted the pace of the event with a dynamic live demonstration. Until then, the equipment had been displayed individually, with visitors able to examine PT Pindad’s new products, detection systems, drones, and armored platforms in static exhibition areas. This coordinated scenario offered a rare opportunity to observe them in action, integrated into a full-scale military simulation.

The scenario depicted a special forces operation to secure an area and evacuate a hostage, highlighting the combined use of mechanized maneuvering, drone support, and discreet mobility. The action began with the approach of a 4x4 armored vehicle, supported by a Sprint electric motorcycle designed locally for silent infiltration. Developed by PT Len Industri, this vehicle is suited for special operations in urban or forested terrain due to its autonomy, durability, and low acoustic signature. A reconnaissance drone was then deployed using an automated mat, enabling takeoff and landing near the point of contact.
Before this demonstration, the AARTOS X9 counter-drone system was shown in static configuration. Developed by Aaronia in cooperation with Indonesian company J-Forces and integrated into a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, this mobile system is designed to detect, classify, and locate small aerial threats using passive radar sensors and AI-based signal processing. Operationally tested during the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022, the system is now ready for deployment with an Indonesian special intervention unit.
Several other vehicles were also displayed statically in the outdoor area. Among them was the PANDU MV3 Tactical EV, a fully electric 4x4 armored vehicle reflecting the Ministry of Defence’s focus on sustainable mobility. Built on a BEV architecture with NMC battery technology, it was officially launched by President Prabowo Subianto. The Pandu combines operational silence and reduced logistical footprint, addressing modern mobility requirements.
Another notable vehicle was the HARIMAU APC, the Indonesian version of the tracked KAPLAN platform. Designed to carry thirteen personnel, the vehicle features protection against ballistic and explosive threats and supports modular configurations for various mission systems, such as RCWS, 360° vision cameras, C2 networks, and fire support modules.
The compact Vela armored platform was also on display, offering flexibility for command or reconnaissance roles. Nearby, two armored vehicles marked with United Nations insignia reflected Indonesia’s continued participation in peacekeeping missions. These vehicles meet UN deployment standards and demonstrate Indonesia’s intention to equip its peacekeeping forces with locally produced systems that are also viable for international export.
Additional specialized variants were exhibited, including the Maung MV1 Mekatronik Mortir for 81 mm mortar transport and operation, with a 71-round capacity; the Harimau MT armed with a 105 mm cannon; the Badak equipped with a 90 mm gun; as well as the Komodo missile launcher (Mistral), Anoa 2, and the Maung MV3 Mobile Jammer.
This range of equipment reflects PT Pindad’s intent to offer a complete and increasingly modular land systems portfolio, with potential for domestic use and export. Through this demonstration, Indonesia underscores not only its operational capabilities but also its strategy for industrial self-reliance and regional integration, combining technological development, environmental considerations, and a multilateral engagement approach.
