Polish and US officials on Wednesday 26 May 2010 hailed the arrival in Poland of an American Patriot missile battery, saying that the hardware and soldiers just a few miles from the Russian border enhanced Polish security but posed no threat to Russia. But Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the military activity on its doorstep did not promote security or "develop a relationship of trust and predictability in the region".
