A centerpiece of the FN Herstal display at DSEI 2025 was the FN Multi Weapon Mount (MWM), a modular pintle system designed to accept legacy, current and next-generation FN machine guns across multiple calibres. The mount was presented as a complete package, enhanced with FN’s SMARTCORE shot counter and associated software, as well as the ELITY LITE laser range finder equipped with an IR illuminator and laser pointer. FN also displayed the SEA MWM, a naval variant tested for extreme maritime conditions, underscoring the company’s commitment to integration across land vehicles, patrol craft and larger naval carriers for support and self-protection missions.

Equally prominent was the FN EVOLYS, an ultralight machine gun engineered to bridge the gap between an assault rifle and a belt-fed system. Available in both 5.56 and 7.62 NATO calibres, the EVOLYS was highlighted for its reduced weight, improved ergonomics, and simplified handling compared to conventional light machine guns. FN representatives framed the EVOLYS as more than just another infantry weapon: it is positioned as a capability enabler for dismounted troops, providing greater firepower without imposing the traditional penalties of weight and bulk.

The broader FN firearms portfolio was displayed as well, including combat-proven pistols, assault rifles, precision rifles and machine guns, all supported by the company’s integrated logistics support and maintenance packages. FN emphasised its ability to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services in Belgium, the UK, the United States or directly at customer sites, ensuring long-term readiness and availability of both FN and non-FN weapons.

Digital sustainment featured heavily at the booth through the FN SMART ARMOURY system. By combining advanced sensors with asset management software, this technology offers operators real-time oversight of weapon inventories, enabling predictive maintenance, reduced downtime and improved lifecycle management. For defence ministries seeking to professionalise logistics chains and reduce manual armoury administration, SMART ARMOURY was positioned as a transformational tool.

Ammunition production and supply-chain resilience formed the final pillar of FN’s DSEI presence. The company reiterated its role as a leading designer of NATO-standard calibres and the undisputed supplier of .50 calibre systems and ammunition. Investments in expanding production capacity in Belgium were detailed alongside options for technology transfer programs, enabling allied nations to establish secure local manufacturing hubs. With European defence industries under pressure to scale up munitions output, FN presented itself as both a reliable producer and a partner for sovereign supply-chain strategies.

To illustrate operational use cases, FN also included demonstrations of commercial crossover products such as the Winchester SX4 shotgun, showcased for counter-UAS applications and close-quarters scenarios. The inclusion underlined FN’s pragmatic approach of leveraging proven technologies to meet emerging battlefield threats.

FN Herstal’s DSEI 2025 presence was designed not as a static showcase but as a systems narrative. From ultralight infantry weapons like the EVOLYS to modular mounts, digital armoury solutions and resilient ammunition supply, the company positioned itself as a partner capable of delivering an end-to-end lethality ecosystem. For procurement authorities and military planners, the message was clear: FN offers not only hardware but a fully integrated path to operational readiness across domains.
