According to the video footage released on Youtube, several ships are being built at the Zaliv Shipyard (Kerch, Republic of Crimea), a subsidiary of the Zelenodolsk Shipyard. The three small corvettes shown on the picture hereunder are known to be the future "Tsiklon", "Askold" and "Amur" (hull numbers 801, 802 and 803). The three corvettes should enter the Black Sea Fleet in between 2020 and 2021.
Designed by Almaz Design Bureau, the Karakurt-Class features a stealth superstructure housing an integrated mast-mounted with phased array radar panels. The platform is designed to offer high manoeuvrability, stability and sea-keeping capabilities.
The modular design of the ship allows for the development of multiple variants to meet the mission-specific requirements. The ship will be installed with advanced command and control systems, navigation and communication facilities, as well as state-of-the-art weapons.
The Project 22800 corvette is 67 m long and 11 m wide and has a full displacement of approximately 860 t and a draught of 2.8 m. The ship is powered by two M-507D-1 diesel engines with a power output of 7,360 kW each and an 8,830-kW M70FRU gas-turbine powerplant. The corvette features a top speed of up to 35 knots, an economical speed of 12 knots, a cruising range of 2,500 nautical miles, and an endurance of 12 days.
