Rafael wins $80 million contract with Asian country for Naval warfare systems suite.

According to information published by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. on September 1, 2021, the firm announced that it has been awarded a contract worth approximately $80 million to supply a comprehensive naval warfare systems suite for Shaldag Mk V Fast Attack Crafts by Israel Shipyards, to an undisclosed country in Southeast Asia. The contract will be fulfilled over the course of three years.

Rafael will supply its client with an advanced naval warfare systems suite, which includes a Combat Management System (CMS), Typhoon and Mini-Typhoon Remote Operating Weapon Systems, Naval Spike Missiles, Sea-Com Internal Communication System and BNET Tactical Data Link, as
well as other components with full maintenance and support services.

Typhoon MLS-ER is a complete Naval Missile System. The system includes Spike-ER launcher & missiles and fire control system installed on a light weight, compact stabilized turret.

The light weight, stabilized system can be installed on a variety of platform ranging from Rigid Hull Inflated Boats (RHIBs) to larger boats and ships.

Typhoon MLS-ER features day and night operation and includes different modes of operation: Fire-and-Forget, Fire Observe & Update and Fire & Steer. This enables the gunner to switch between targets after launch, avoid friendly fire, conduct surveillance/damage assessment and attack hidden targets.

The Philippines Navy could be the Asian country that bought the Naval warfare systems suite.
