The Project 20380 Gromky Steregushchy-class corvette and two missile boats of the Primorye Flotilla have practiced solo combat in the Peter the Great Gulf,” the press office said. The Steregushchiy class is the newest class of corvettes being built for the Russian Navy that was designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. The ship is armed with one 100mm A-190 Arsenal or 130mm A-192 naval gun, one Kashtan CIWS-M (Close-In Weapon System), two 4 Kh-35 (SS-N-25) anti-ship missile, two AK-630М CIWS, eight 330mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK anti-torpedo/anti-submarine torpedoes, and two 14.5mm MTPU pedestal machine guns.
In particular, the ships conducted artillery live-firing against seaborne and aerial targets and neutralized notional floating mines. Also, the missile boats imitated a launch of cruise missiles with the use of the Moskit (SS-N-22 Sunburn) missile system against the simulated enemy’s naval formation.
The Gromky corvette practiced taking a Kamov Ka-27 (Helix) helicopter on board. The crews also threw grenades to protect the ships from frogmen in an unsafe roadstead.
The Ust-Ilimsk and Sovetskaya Gavan small anti-submarine warfare ships (Grisha III class) and the Razliv small missile ship (Nanuchka III) fired artillery weapons against seaborne and aerial targets in Kamchatka in the Far East. The Grisha III is a class of anti-submarine corvette in service with the Russian Navy since 1970. These ships incorporated several small-scale modifications, including a 30 mm gun and new electronics.
The Nanuchka III, Russian designation Project 12341, is a class corvette designed to protect sea communications, escorts, struggle against the surface ships in coastal areas. The ship is armed "Osa" SAM system with ammunition of 20 missiles, 76-mm AK-176 gun, and six-guns 30-mm anti-aircraft automatic gun AK-630.
