The development of the light torpedo-II system is a project to improve the detection and attack capabilities of current light torpedoes (blue sharks) that are arming surface ships.

The Light Torpedo-II not only has the ability to respond to the evolving enemy's deception, but also has the ability to attack quickly and accurately from a distance, so it can strike a target with precision.

This project is one of the projects that the Defense Agency has adjusted from the Defense Science Research Institute to the company-led R&D as part of the 'defense R&D system reform'.

The National Research Institute provides technical support, such as transferring the technology necessary for development to LIG Nex1 and providing advice necessary for technical decision-making. The DAPA also plans to promote the project so that close cooperation with related organizations such as ADD and Soyo-gun is achieved.

LIG Nex1 plans to actively reflect the latest technology trends based on stealth, such as developing a new acoustic detection sensor to improve the light torpedo-II's detection and attack capabilities against enemy submarines. It is expected that this will enable effective operation and greatly increase the survivability of friendly ships.
