The exercise witnessed the synergized efforts of the U.S. Sentinel-class fast response cutter, USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142), a U.S. rigid-hull inflatable boat, and the Royal Bahrain Navy’s patrol craft, Al Farooq (PC 43). The joint forces performed a range of SAR techniques, including a simulated man-overboard drill and small boat maneuvers.

Marking a maiden collaboration of its kind, the Royal Bahrain Navy’s Al Farooq (PC 43) showcased its seamless operational integration with the U.S. naval assets, underscoring the growing interoperability between the two naval forces.

Context

The Persian Gulf, with its strategic waterways and proximity to various regional powers, necessitates constant vigilance and preparedness from naval forces operating within its confines.

In this context, Search and Rescue (SAR) exercises play an essential role. They ensure that in the event of a maritime mishap, the involved parties can efficiently and seamlessly coordinate to address the situation.

These exercises are not merely about honing maritime skills but are also about enhancing mutual understanding and interoperability among different navies.
