DSEI 2023: Theon Sensors unveils Talos MR EO/IR System.

During DSEI 2023, the Greek firm Theon Sensors (part of EFA Group) introduced the Talos MR, a gyro-stabilized medium-range multi-sensor EO/IR system.

The Talos MR features a day/LLL camera, a cooled-MWIR camera, continuous motorized zoom lenses, and an IP67-rated marine turret. Additionally, the system incorporates a laser ranger finder, an optional laser pointer, and a gyro-stabilized pan/tilt mechanism, aligning with current military standards.

The system provides IP-based operation, allowing for standalone or networked function. It is paired with a console desktop PC, with an alternative option for a rugged panel PC with a touchscreen and joystick.

Its applications are primarily in reconnaissance EO for moving off-road military vehicles and maritime entities such as patrol boats, coast guard boats, IPVs, and OPVs.

With a background in the electro-optical (EO) surveillance sector, Theon Sensors caters to both combat and non-combat platforms. Their systems utilize day/LLL cameras, thermal cameras, various pan/tilt mechanisms, and image processing algorithms. They have integrated systems for different land vehicles.

Designed to support surveillance and reconnaissance efforts, Theon's systems aim to provide improved situational awareness for vehicles and vessels. The user interface of the system allows for diverse mode management, and its open architecture is compatible with many existing Command & Control setups on vehicles or vessels.
