Indonesia Navy completes training with Schiebel Camcopter S-100 UAS.

According to information published by the Indonesian MoD on September 29, 2023, the Commander of the Navy Aviation Center (Danpuspenerbal), Rear Admiral TNl Dr. Imam Musani, formally concluded the Unmanned Air System (UAS) training for the Schiebel Camcopter S-100.

Commander Musani mentioned that from 11th to 28th September 2023, there had been a technical support activity for one unit of the Unmanned Serial Vertical take-off landing maritime surveillance system, participated by 10 personnel from Squadron 700 Wing 2 Puspenerbal Juanda.

About the UAS

The UAS Camcopter S-100 is a compact drone spanning a length of 3.11 m and standing at a height of 1.12 m. This drone's build allows it to accommodate a payload capacity of 50 kg.

When empty, it weighs about 110 kg and can handle a maximum takeoff weight of up to 200 kg. Fuel-wise, it possesses a capacity of 57 L of AVGas 100 LL.

The Camcopter S-100 operates using either the Austro Engine AE50R Wankel engine or the optional Schiebel heavy fuel engine. This power enables the drone to achieve a maximum speed of 220 km/h, maintain a cruise speed of 190 km/h, and operate efficiently up to a range of 180 km.

The drone boasts an endurance of 6 hours and can soar up to a service ceiling of 5,500 m. Beyond its surveillance capabilities, it's also equipped for defense, with provisions to carry lightweight multirole missiles.
