At Seafuture 2023, the international exhibition showcasing maritime and naval technology, the Cabrini-class patrol boat Tullio Tedeshi was prominently featured. The event provided an opportunity for industry experts, naval personnel, and maritime enthusiasts to take a closer look at this class of patrol boats.

The Cabrini-class patrol boat is a remarkable example of modern naval architecture, perfectly blending performance, durability, and combat readiness into one versatile package.

This class of patrol boats, with a full-load displacement of 190 tons, combines advanced technology and practical design to fulfill a range of patrol and surveillance roles in diverse maritime environments.

Measuring 44.16 meters in overall length and 9.2 meters at her broadest point, the vessel provides ample space for its complement of 9 crew members and 20 COMSUBIN troops.

She can maintain an impressive speed of over 32 knots, thanks to her three MTU 16V200 M94 diesel engines, each delivering 2,000 kW of power, and three Rolls-Royce Kamewa S4 waterjets. This makes the Cabrini-class patrol boat not only swift but also maneuverable in varying sea conditions.

The vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and processing systems including the Leonardo CMS SADOC Mk4, GEM Elettronica MM/SPN-760 dual-band navigation radar, Leonardo Janus-N IRST system, and satellite communications. These technologies enhance situational awareness, thereby contributing to the efficiency of patrol, surveillance, and combat operations.

In terms of armament, the Cabrini-class patrol boat is fortified with an Oto Melara Hitfist-N 12.7 mm remote-controlled turret, a Spike LR missile launcher, and two 7.62 mm Dillon Aero M134D Gatling guns. Additionally, she can host up to 12 machine guns, providing formidable firepower to deter any threats on the high seas.

Another key feature is the stern ramp, which allows for the deployment and automatic recovery of a 7.33-meter RHIB, adding an extra layer of operational capability. The vessel also boasts STANAG 4569 Level II ballistic resistance, enhancing the safety and security of the crew on board.
