The design of the drone is reminiscent of certain naval drones from Ukraine. The company is now based in Kaohsiung's "Ocean Tech Hub" and has scheduled a presentation of the Sea Shark at the aerospace event in September.
As for its specifications, the Sea Shark measures 4 meters, can achieve speeds of up to 65 km/h, and has a range of 300 km. Lei Tiger is also expanding into aerial drones. The Sea Shark is equipped with a camera that can relay real-time footage. Its operations can be managed remotely for various missions.
The "Ocean Tech Hub" in Kaohsiung serves as a center for advancements in submarine technology and other marine equipment. Lei Tiger is also partnering with the Metal Center's IVC Lab to incorporate AI technology into their unmanned vehicles. This promises research and development in marine and aerial technology.
In 2022, Lei Tiger participated in renowned drone programs, suggesting that the company is establishing itself as a significant player in Taiwan's drone industry.
USV
Military applications for Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) encompass seaborne targets, minehunting, surveillance, reconnaissance, strike operations, and sea denial. Medium USVs have roles in fleet intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare.
During the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian forces used Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) in a notable naval attack. This marked a significant shift in modern warfare, demonstrating how automated technology can alter naval tactics and strategy.
