The TF2000 destroyer has a displacement of 8,300 tonnes. It measures 149 meters (488 feet 10 inches) in length, with a beam of 21.3 meters (69 feet 11 inches) and a draft of 5.75 meters (18 feet 10 inches).

The destroyer is powered by a Combined Diesel or Gas (CODOG) propulsion system, featuring two diesel engines and two LM-2500 gas turbines. It can reach speeds of over 26 knots (48 km/h or 30 mph). The ship's complement ranges between 180 and 210 personnel, with the capacity to accommodate up to 240 crew members.

One of the key features of the TF2000 destroyer is its air defense capabilities. It is designed to detect, track, and neutralize various airborne threats, such as missiles, drones, and aircraft, through its phased-array radar and advanced missile systems. The ship's ability to engage multiple targets simultaneously at long range is expected to bolster Turkey's layered air defense structure.

The vessel also incorporates electronic warfare systems and combat management software to enhance its overall operational effectiveness. Its modular design allows for future upgrades and adaptability to evolving technology and mission requirements.

In addition to air defense, the TF2000 is designed to carry out multiple types of naval operations, including anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, as well as intelligence gathering and surveillance missions. The destroyer is expected to be equipped with vertical launch systems (VLS) for a range of missile types, supporting both offensive and defensive operations.

Several Turkish defense contractors, including ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, and ROKETSAN, have been involved in the development of the destroyer, reflecting Turkey’s focus on increasing domestic defense production and reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.

The TF2000 destroyer is expected to be an important component of Turkey’s future naval strategy. It is designed to enhance the country’s maritime defense capabilities and support its regional security goals. The destroyer’s capabilities are also expected to contribute to Turkey's obligations within NATO and other international defense partnerships.
