ASIS Enhances its 11.5m Interceptor for Increased Protection and Endurance at NAVDEX 2025.

ASIS Boats presented an upgraded version of its 11.5-meter offshore rigid military interceptor at NAVDEX 2025, held in Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21. Designed for military, law enforcement, and search and rescue operations, this model introduces several improvements over its predecessor, including a partially enclosed wheelhouse that provides better protection for operators while maintaining quick access to equipment and operational areas. The pilot station, now fully covered on top but open on the sides and rear, enhances ergonomics and crew comfort in demanding maritime environments.

A key structural enhancement is the addition of below-deck cavities filled with closed-cell waterproof memory foam. This reinforcement increases hull rigidity, stability, and buoyancy, allowing the vessel to continue its mission even in the event of a hull breach. To further improve resilience against impacts and harsh maritime conditions, ASIS has also integrated a third fender line around the vessel, enhancing overall protection.

Measuring 11.24 meters in length without engines and 4 meters in width, the interceptor is built on a patented Foam Shield aluminum hull with a deep V structure. Its operational weight, including engines and fuel, reaches 5,500 kg. Powered by three Mercury Verado V10 outboard engines, each delivering 400 horsepower, it achieves rapid acceleration and a top speed of 56 knots. Its range is optimized with a fuel capacity of 1,200 liters.

The interior layout has been redesigned to meet the operational needs of special forces and maritime patrol units. The dual-console cockpit is now equipped with eight suspension seats, improving shock absorption during high-speed maneuvers. The deck is designed for enhanced modularity, featuring a rail system that allows for easy reconfiguration of equipment to adapt to mission requirements.

The vessel's armament capabilities remain a key component of its design, featuring four mounting plates for M240 machine guns and dedicated storage for long weapons. For missions requiring rapid extraction or fire support, it includes forward and aft mounting points capable of accommodating additional weapon systems. The integration of new stainless steel lifting points improves launch and recovery operations, enabling swift deployment in various operational environments.

Onboard systems include advanced navigation technology, featuring multiple Garmin GPSMAP displays of 12 and 16 inches, a GMR 424 XD2 radar, and a stabilized FLIR M364C thermal camera, enhancing surveillance and target acquisition capabilities. The communication and signaling suite includes a VHF AIS radio, a Whelen PA siren system, and a remotely controlled ACR RCL 95 searchlight for night operations or low-visibility conditions.

With this upgraded version of its 11.5-meter interceptor, ASIS Boats continues to expand its presence in the market for rapid response and special forces patrol vessels. Its expertise in developing versatile naval platforms addresses the increasing demand from coastal navies, anti-piracy units, and coast guard forces worldwide. As the need for fast intervention vessels continues to grow, this enhanced model is likely to attract interest from naval forces seeking effective and adaptable solutions for evolving maritime challenges.
