The signing ceremony, which underscored the strengthening ties between Brazil and the UAE, was attended by senior officials, including Hamad Al Marar, the Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group, and Rogerio Salvador, CEO of SIATT, the Brazilian defense company responsible for local production and integration of the MANSUP missile system. The deal represents a major leap forward in Brazil’s naval modernization efforts, with the MANSUP missile set to become a critical component of the Brazilian Navy's new fleet of advanced warships.

Developed as part of a strategic partnership between Brazil’s defense industry, SIATT, and EDGE, the MANSUP missile is designed to address the operational needs of both the Brazilian Navy and the UAE Navy, with the potential for international exports. The missile is a significant leap forward in anti-ship capabilities, offering precise targeting, advanced guidance systems, and an extended range that enhances the combat capabilities of the ships it equips. These features ensure that the MANSUP missile is a formidable asset for engaging enemy surface targets in both conventional and asymmetric warfare scenarios, providing unmatched precision even in complex operational environments.

The MANSUP missile’s design integrates state-of-the-art technologies that combine the expertise of both Brazilian and UAE defense specialists. The system includes an advanced radar seeker, which allows for highly accurate tracking of targets, and a highly effective propulsion system that ensures superior range and velocity. These capabilities make it an ideal solution for modern naval forces that require long-range, high-performance anti-ship weapons. Its successful integration into the Tamandaré-class frigates will significantly enhance Brazil's naval firepower, enabling the fleet to engage surface targets with precision over great distances.

The Tamandaré-class frigates, a key component of Brazil’s future naval strategy, are next-generation multi-role warships designed to meet a wide range of combat scenarios, including anti-ship, anti-submarine, and air defense operations. These stealthy, highly advanced ships are equipped with the latest radar systems, weapons, and sensors, allowing them to operate effectively in contested maritime environments. The integration of the MANSUP missile into these frigates will give Brazil a significant edge in surface combat, further enhancing the fleet’s capabilities and its ability to defend Brazil’s vast maritime interests.

The frigates will be equipped with a variety of advanced weaponry, including 127mm and 30mm naval guns, surface-to-air missile systems, and torpedoes for anti-submarine warfare. Additionally, their advanced electronic warfare systems, radar arrays, and integrated combat management systems will allow them to detect, track, and engage threats across air, surface, and underwater domains with unprecedented accuracy. By incorporating MANSUP missiles, Brazil ensures that its fleet will not only be technologically advanced but also well-equipped to confront a variety of maritime threats with devastating precision.

This partnership between EDGE and SIATT exemplifies Brazil’s ongoing commitment to bolstering its naval defense capabilities through international collaboration and cutting-edge technology. The integration of MANSUP missiles onto the Tamandaré-class frigates is a key step in Brazil’s broader defense strategy, which seeks to modernize and expand its naval fleet while ensuring long-term technological self-sufficiency. Through this deal, Brazil not only strengthens its naval forces but also signals its intent to remain a key player in global maritime defense.

Furthermore, the successful collaboration between EDGE and Brazil sets a strong precedent for future defense partnerships between the two countries. As defense industries worldwide increasingly look to develop advanced technologies to address emerging threats, the agreement signals the potential for even closer cooperation between Brazil and the UAE in naval, aerospace, and other high-tech defense sectors. This joint venture between Brazilian and UAE defense experts provides a solid foundation for continued collaboration, possibly paving the way for future projects in other areas of military technology.

With the integration of the MANSUP missile system, Brazil’s Tamandaré-class frigates will be equipped with world-class anti-ship capabilities, significantly enhancing the Brazilian Navy's operational reach and effectiveness in securing the nation's maritime interests. As the frigates near completion and begin their service, the Brazilian Navy will be well-positioned to operate within modern, high-tech naval environments, ensuring that Brazil remains a dominant force in the South Atlantic and beyond.

This agreement not only strengthens the defense relationship between Brazil and the UAE but also solidifies both countries' commitment to advancing their defense capabilities. The MANSUP missile system, alongside the formidable capabilities of the Tamandaré-class frigates, ensures that Brazil’s naval forces are prepared to face contemporary challenges, while also positioning the country to remain at the forefront of global maritime defense technology. As the Brazilian Navy continues its modernization efforts, the partnership with EDGE and the integration of advanced systems like MANSUP will ensure that Brazil’s military is well-equipped to confront the challenges of the 21st century.
