Strelets target acquisition and designation system deployed with Russian Su-24M bombers in Syria
The Russian air power in Syria delivered surgical pinpoint strikes at verified targets outside the city of Aleppo and its residential areas, head of the Main Operations Department of Russia’s General Staff Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy said.

"Russian aircraft are delivering pinpoint airstrikes engaging verified targets outside the city of Aleppo and away from residential areas. We don’t attack weddings and funerals. Every airstrike is registered by onboard monitoring equipment and drones," he said.

According to Rudskoy, targeting is facilitated by surveillance, control and communication systems, including Strelets. "Engaging modernized Su-24M bombers jointly with Strelets complexes ensures almost 100% efficiency of airstrikes," he explained.

Besides using their own reconnaissance means, the Russian military cooperate with the Syrian army command and militia to obtain information on terrorist facilities. It is verified step-by-step, the general added.

"All targets in residential areas and close to schools, hospitals, marketplaces, mosques and other social objects where civilians can be are deleted from the list of targets," Rudskoy stressed.

The Russian military analyze satellite data and verify them with aircraft, drones, radio-technical means and reconnaissance agents. "Our experts have to be fully sure there is no threat to civilians before ordering a strike at that or another object," he said.
