New B100J MRAP vehicle introduced by BAIC Group at Air Show China 2018


Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd (BAIC Group) has been introducing a wide range of new 4X4 vehicles at Air Show China 2018, held last week in Zhuhai (Guangdong). Among them is the new B100J mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle.

The B100J is a new 4x4 mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle which features STANAG 4569 level I of armor, or even level II with add-on armor. It offer high protection, high mobility and high carrying capabilities, says BAIC Group.

The B100J has a curb weight of 11 tons and a payload capacity of 3 tons. It incorporates a V-hull into a monocoque chassis, offering a mine protection level of up to STANAG 4569 level 3A/3B. It is 6.3 m long, 2.4 m high and 2.4 m wide.

The Tufan is able to carried a total of 10 military personnel including driver and commander and 8 infantrymen.

The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 120 km/h with 6AT gearbox and an anti-explosion oil tank of 160 l filled with polyurethane materials. Suspension system features five working mode: transportation, high-speed, standard, off-road and wading.

The general layout of the vehicle is standard with the engine at the front, the crew compartment in the middle and troops area at the rear. The front of the crew compartment is fitted with one two bulletproof windows, there is also one small door on each side.
