The BvS10 is an all-terrain armored vehicle, which consists of two tracked vehicle units linked by a steering mechanism. The front unit has 2.5 m2 of cargo space while the rear unit has 10 m2 of cargo space. Both units are of all-welded steel armor construction, which provides protection against firing of small arms fire and artillery shell splinters.

The power pack is located in the front unit, with four individual seats to the rear, two either side. The driver is seated on the left with the commander on the right and both crew members have a bulletproof window to their immediate front. To their side is a front-opening door with a bulletproof window in the upper part. The rear unit has a single large door in the rear although there are various options for vision devices. The ten occupants are seated five down either side facing each other on individual seats.

The BvS 10 is motorized with a Cummins 5.9 liter 6-cylinder in-line heavy-duty diesel developing 250 hp at 2,500 rpm coupled to a Allison automatic transmission with 6 forward and 1 reverse speeds. It can run at a maximum road speed of 70 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 350 km. The vehicle is fully amphibious, and can cross water obstacle at a maximum speed of 4 km/h, being propelled in the water by its rubber band tracks.

Adaptable to a wide range of functions, the BvS10 can be fitted with different types of weapon stations armed with 5.56mm to 12.7mm machine gun, as well as a 40mm automatic grenade launcher.

The BvS10 is in service with 5 countries in the world including France, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom and Austria.
