Russia Develops Mobile PRES System to Counter FPV Drones in Ukraine.
The state-owned company Rostec, through its subsidiary Ruselectronics, has introduced the "PRES" system, a mobile anti-FPV drone solution designed to protect a wide range of vehicles, including ambulances, buses, trucks, SUVs, and cars. Developed by engineers at the Vector Research Institute, this compact and efficient system neutralizes FPV drone threats by disrupting their control channels.

The PRES system operates within a frequency range of 400 to 1,200 MHz, generating interference that paralyzes the control mechanisms of FPV drones. Thanks to its modular design, users can replace or adjust suppression modules directly on-site without requiring the assistance of specialized technicians. The suppression range extends up to 150 meters with a 360-degree operational radius, ensuring full coverage around the vehicle.
Weighing 14.5 kilograms, the PRES system is magnetically mounted on vehicle roofs, allowing for quick and easy installation. It is designed to operate reliably under various weather conditions and temperatures ranging from -40°C to +40°C. Its integration with vehicle batteries eliminates the need for additional power sources, with an electrical consumption of 850 W and a total interference power output of 400 W. The control unit is installed inside the vehicle, providing convenient access for operators.
Vyacheslav Lyashuk, Director of Business Development at the Vector Research Institute, emphasized the growing importance of mobile anti-drone solutions: "Protecting vehicles against drone attacks has become a critical necessity. By leveraging our expertise in stationary and portable anti-drone systems, we developed PRES to provide mobile, on-the-go protection. The modular design allows operators to quickly adjust suppression ranges by selecting from eight available modules. PRES is currently undergoing operational testing, and serial production will begin shortly."
In addition, the Vector Research Institute is also developing mobile detectors to identify drones, which can be integrated with the PRES system to enhance its overall UAV countermeasure capabilities. This combination would provide a comprehensive solution for protecting vehicles against emerging drone technologies.
The PRES system represents a major advancement in anti-drone defense, showcasing Rostec's ongoing innovation in counter-UAV technologies for both civilian and military applications.
