During the discussions, special attention was given to the modernized AK-12, which has been supplied to the troops since the beginning of this year. Understanding the specifics of its design is essential for its effective use and the safety of thousands of soldiers. The military shared their insights with Kalashnikov representatives on how small arms could be further developed and their preferences regarding its configuration.

"The exchanges with the group’s specialists were open, highly professional, and valuable for our mission," noted the military unit commander. "Our common goal is to perfect the AK-12 assault rifle and make it a weapon of victory."

Kalashnikov actively promotes direct dialogue between gunsmiths and operators. Visits amid the conflict in Ukraine are part of ongoing efforts to improve the weapons produced by the group, ensuring they meet the needs of those on the front lines.

The AK-12 is a modern assault rifle designed by Russia, capable of using various types of ammunition, including the Russian 5.45x39 mm, NATO 5.56x45 mm, 7.62x39 mm, and NATO 7.62x51 mm. This versatility in terms of ammunition makes it suitable for various theaters of operation and allows easy integration into the armed forces of different countries.

It is relatively compact, measuring 0.945 m in length (0.725 m with the stock folded), facilitating handling and transport on the battlefield. Weighing 3.3 kg, the AK-12 is light enough to be easily maneuvered by a soldier on the move while offering good stability when firing. Its barrel, 415 mm in length, ensures precision and an effective range of up to 625 meters, making it a formidable weapon at medium distances.

The rifle has a variable rate of fire, ranging from 600 to 1,000 rounds per minute, giving it great flexibility depending on operational needs. It is equipped with a standard 30-round magazine, allowing for sustained firepower during engagements.

The AK-12 also features a safety selector located on each side of the weapon, offering four positions: "S" for safety, "1" for single-shot fire, "3" for a three-shot burst, and "A" for automatic fire. This safety system allows the user to quickly switch between firing modes depending on the tactical situation.
