This agreement represents a collaborative approach to defense acquisitions, with Finland offering its support to Slovenia for the purchase of Patria’s 8x8 vehicles. Known for their modularity, mobility, and robust protection, Patria’s AMV XP 8x8 vehicles are among the best in the global market. They provide superior firepower, protection, and agility, making them ideal for a variety of operational environments.

The Patria AMV XP 8x8 has already gained popularity, having been selected for ongoing vehicle projects in Slovakia and Japan, further solidifying its reputation as a state-of-the-art solution. Slovenia’s decision to acquire these vehicles reflects a growing trend among nations to seek enhanced armored vehicle capabilities for their armed forces.

The AMV XP (Armoured Modular Vehicle eXtra Protection) is an upgraded version of the modular armored vehicle AMV, designed by Patria, offering superior protection and combat capability. Primarily used by countries such as Bulgaria, Finland, and Slovakia, the AMV XP stands out with its advanced features tailored to the modern needs of armed forces.

The armament of the AMV XP is highly versatile, featuring a Trackfire weapon system that includes a 25mm cannon and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, offering significant firepower for medium-range engagements. The vehicle can also be equipped with a weapon up to a 120mm cannon, providing considerable flexibility depending on mission requirements. In terms of protection, the AMV XP boasts modular ballistic armor, along with mine and IED (improvised explosive device) protection systems, ensuring the safety of the crew against modern battlefield threats.

The vehicle has a maximum combat weight of 30,000 kg, allowing it to maintain a robust armor combination while still preserving high mobility. With a top speed of 100 km/h on roads, the AMV XP is capable of moving swiftly and efficiently across various terrains, while offering an operational range of 600 to 1,000 km, depending on usage conditions and operational needs.

The AMV XP can carry a crew of 2, while being capable of accommodating up to 10 additional soldiers, making it an ideal armored transport vehicle for rapid deployment and combat operations. The vehicle is equipped with several accessories that enhance its operational capabilities, such as an NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protection system, LED lighting technology, air conditioning, a central tire inflation system, as well as radios, intercoms, and night vision equipment, ensuring maximum effectiveness in various combat conditions.

With dimensions of 8.4 meters in length, 2.8 meters in width, and 2.5 meters in height, the AMV XP maintains an imposing size while offering excellent maneuverability on the battlefield. Thus, this vehicle combines strong protection, adaptable firepower, and high mobility, making it particularly suited for modern combat environments.
