Description
The Cobra is a 4x4 armored personnel carrier (APC) designed and manufactured by Streit Group. It is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series and features a combination of ballistic steel monocoque body, mild steel inner floor, and under-body blast protection. This APC can be utilized by modern armed forces in diverse battlefield scenarios, as well as by law enforcement agencies when agility and protection are crucial.
Configured as a standard armored personnel carrier, the Cobra can accommodate a maximum of 9 people, including the driver and commander. The modular design of the Cobra facilitates swift movement and easy handling. Its 4x4 off-road performance is noteworthy, with independent suspension and differential locking capabilities that make it suitable for traversing challenging terrains.
Developed by the Streit Group, the Cobra APC aims to provide essential capabilities such as high mobility, combat effectiveness, and improved survivability within a single platform. Additionally, the APC is designed for transport by military aircraft such as the C-130 or equivalent.

Armament |
The Streit Group Cobra 4x4 APC can be fitted with an open-top turret mounted at the center of the vehicle's roof. This turret can be fortified with armor plates and bullet-proof windows, accommodating a machine gun with a caliber of up to 12.7mm or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher. The turret design ensures a 360° view for the gunner and provides comprehensive protection against enemy fire from all directions. Upon request, the Cobra 4x4 APC can be outfitted with a light remotely controlled weapon station (RCWS), enhancing the gunner's observational and engagement capabilities while maintaining protection.

Design and protection |
The Cobra 4x4 APC adheres to a conventional layout, placing the engine compartment at the front, the crew in the middle, and the troop's area at the rear, with an interior volume of 5.7 m³. The monocoque body is designed for optimal ballistic resistance and underbody blast protection, providing defense against small arms fire and shell splinters. Constructed from ballistic steel with a maximum thickness of 6.5mm, the vehicle body includes a 3.7mm mild steel inner floor and a 6mm mild steel underbody for protection against mine blasts.
As an option, the Cobra 4x4 APC can be equipped with additional ceramic and composite add-on armor plates. Positioned in front of the commander and driver is a sizable bulletproof window, with doors on each side, each featuring a bulletproof window. The vehicle is customizable with either 3 or 5 doors. The rear section of the vehicle is designed to accommodate four soldiers, who enter and exit through a large rear door that opens to the right. Additionally, two escape hatches are available on the top of the troop's compartment. |
Mobility |
The Streit Group Cobra 4x4 APC can be motorized by a 4.5 L V8 diesel engine developing 216 hp, or a 5.7L V8 petrol engine generating 381 hp. The engine can be coupled with either a 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. The Cobra 4x4 has a cruising range of 800 km, a ground clearance of 510 mm, and a payload capacity of 1.000 kg. The off-road performance of the Cobra 4x4 is noteworthy, featuring independent suspension and differential locking for effective traversal of demanding terrains, allowing the vehicle to handle slopes up to 46%, and water obstacles with a depth of 0.7 m. |
