Dozor B Light 4x4 armored personnel carrier 925 001

Description

The Dozor-B is a 4x4 light armored personnel carrier developed and manufactured in Ukraine by the Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB). It was initially showcased at the IDEX defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2007 as the Dozor-B B1320. Poland has been producing a licensed version of the Dozor-B called the Oncilla since 2013, which has subsequently been supplied to Ukraine. In January 2015, a new variant of the Dozor-B, designated as the Dozor-B B1320-1/B1320А, was unveiled during the IDET Defense Exhibition in the Czech Republic. The Lviv Armored Plant of Ukraine introduced the first production vehicle of this new armored personnel carrier for the Ukrainian army in January 2015. Additionally, in April 2016, the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade (95 ODSHBr) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received the initial batch of 10 Dozor-B vehicles.

Technical Data

Armament
The Dozor-B offers a variety of weaponry options, including a UAH-40 40mm automatic grenade launcher, a choice between a Stugna or Barrier 130mm anti-tank guided missile (ATGM), and several remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS). These RCWS configurations consist of a remotely-controlled 12.7 heavy machine gun, a module with two 2A7M 23mm guns, the OBM equipped with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun and a UAH-40 automatic grenade launcher, the Blik-2 featuring a 12.7mm machine gun, a 30mm automatic grenade launcher AGS-17, and a smoke grenade launcher, the Blik-2M with a 12.7mm NSVT machine gun, one ATGM, one 7.62mm machine gun, and one 30mm automatic grenade launcher, the Vii armed with a twin-barreled GSh-23 23mm gun, and the BPU-12.7 RCWS armed with a 12.7mm machine gun and equipped with a laser rangefinder.
Design and protection
The Dozor-B is designed with a layout resembling a standard civilian car, emphasizing high mobility and off-road capabilities while maintaining a moderate level of protection. The vehicle is compartmentalized into three main sections: the front houses the powerpack, the middle accommodates the crew, and the rear serves as the troop compartment.
In the front section, both the driver and commander positions are situated. Behind them, there are nine additional seats - three at the front, including the gunner's position, and six inward-facing seats at the rear for infantry personnel. The vehicle's steel armor provides protection against 7.62mm B-32 armor-piercing bullets for the crew compartment. The floor is constructed from special steel to withstand mine explosions equivalent to 0.5 kg of TNT.
At the front, two windows offer protection levels similar to the rest of the hull. On each side, there is one large door that opens forward, featuring a small bulletproof window. Additionally, there are two firing ports on each side and two at the rear. Another large door at the rear opens to the right and includes a bulletproof window.
For enhanced protection against ballistic and mine threats, an armor kit can be added to the Dozor-B's hull.
Mobility
The Dozor-B was designed to be compatible with five different engines and transmission options, including an Iveco 8142.38.11 four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with a power output of 140hp, a Deutz BF 4M 1013C 4.7-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 190hp, and an Iveco six-cylinder diesel engine generating 197hp. These engines can be coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed Allison LCT 1000 automatic transmission system.
The engine is positioned at the front of the vehicle and is separated from the crew compartment by an airtight bulkhead designed to minimize vibration and noise. The Dozor-B features an independent lever-type torsion bar suspension with telescopic two-sided action shock absorbers. It has a top speed of 100 km/h, a cruising range of 700 km, a ground clearance of 400 mm, and a combat weight of 9,500 kg. The Dozor-B is capable of handling side slopes of up to 24°, gradients of up to 31°, vertical obstacles of up to 0.4 m, and water obstacles with a depth of up to 1 m.
Combat Equipment
The Dozor-B comes equipped with standard features that include communication devices, a central tire inflation system, a coupling and towing device, and a self-recovery winch mounted at the front of the hull. Additionally, there are two TNP-165A day vision observation devices on each side located at the top rear of the troop's compartment. For night vision capabilities, the driver is provided with a TNV-5 device that can operate in both passive and active modes, offering a maximum vision range of 180 meters.
The communication systems in the Dozor-B consist of one R-173M radio, one R-173PM radio receiver, and one AVSK-1 crew intercom system. Optionally, the Dozor-B can be fitted with a Global Positioning System (GPS), a heating system, and an air conditioning system.
